Jaboticabas, Yummy Peaches and Highlights of November
Monday, November 30, 2009 at 03:55PM With long sunny hot days, and the festive season of December just on our doorstep, November’s been a busy month here filled with:
Much excitement about our luscious dwarf peaches ripening in time to beat the summer fruit fly...
Three weekends of meeting lovely fellow gardeners on tours around our suburban food forest...
An abundance of ladybeetles loving the fennel and parsley going to flower...
Much surprise and honour at being announced the winner of the Top Gong Environmental Sustainability Award for contributing to building environmental capital in the Wollongong community...
A spectacular display of blissful balls of fruit on the japoticaba...

Congratulations on your award. Very well deserved.Your garden as usual is looking spectacular and I only wish I was closer so I could come for a visit. Enjoy the end of spring, will you do anything major to protect your garden from the summer heat or is it pretty self serving now?
Congratulations! I read that you'd been nominated for that award, and it's awesome that you won.
Sounds like a great month. The peaches look lovely.
Congratulations on the award!
Hi Alison, Super Contrag's for winning the award. You have done a great job this year at home and in your job. Look forward to seeing you next week at the Rise and Shine awards....

Congratulations! That is fantastic!
Thanks so much for your congratulations guys - you're too kind! It's so lovely having your support, and you're wonderful feedback really gives us the inspiration to keep doing what we love! Thank you!
Fay, it sure is starting to heat up here! Our chicken house has retractable shade cloth over the open enclosed area, so we've just pulled that over to help our chooks keep cool this summer. As for the garden, we're keeping things well mulched and planting out our new seedlings in those times when we have cooler periods.
Congrats Alison on the award, which only echoes the recognition of your (and Rrichard's!) vision, faith, work and positivity that your garden has been awarding you every day! You guys are so inspiring. Delighted to see we can come and sticky beak at the garden too! I'll have to knock on your door when we're next travelling in the area. Congrats again and keep up the good work.
Best wishes - Katrina
